Garden Therapy held monthly in the Gregory Wing at St. Andrews Village included two activities in February.
Residents made Rice Cake Peanut Butter Bird Feeders. This has become an annual winter craft which everyone enjoys. After they were finished, the rice cake feeders were hung on the trees outside the activity room where residents can enjoy the birds nibbling away during these cold winter days.
Each resident was also able to decorate large clear cups with Valentine stickers. These cups then became the growing medium for paperwhite bulbs. Small stones were used to create the base for the bulbs’ roots to anchor and grow. They were lined up on the window sill for residents to care for and enjoy as they grow and bloom during the month of February.
