I LOVE YOU GARDENS-Memorial for Lewiston-Auburn Shootings
Public art, public and memorial gardens, and urban beautification come together in Lewiston-Auburn’s (I LOVE YOU) Gardens
built for L-A and the greater community throughout the state in memory of the mass shootings on October 25, 2023 in Lewiston, Maine.
Hello Garden Friends, I’m an artist in Auburn and am wrapping up the first season of the (I LOVE YOU) Gardens built as commemoration of the 10/25/23 mass shootings in Lewiston. They sit at the intersection of memorial & public gardens, urban beautification and public art.
We have monthly community planting days and are always looking for volunteers, extra plants and tools! On 10/25 last year we planted about 1k bulbs – allium, daffs & tulips and I’d like to do the same this year. If you know anyone who is dividing or digging up, please send them my way.
Below is a flyer for this month. Tanja
Ps. We’re also on social at @iloveyougardens
